Summer Car Maintenance
In recent years, Western Pennsylvania seems to have morphed into a 3-season area; the usual transition from winter to summer used to include spring, a mild-weathered few months that brought rain and warmer temperatures. Lately, though, with thermostats topping out in the high 80s, spring is feeling a lot more like summer.
That kind of abrupt change can be tough on our cars. Make sure you’re prepared for the hot weather by following these car maintenance tips:
1. Check the tires: A fluctuation in temperature will absolutely affect tire pressure. Be sure tires are properly inflated, and use the penny test to check that the tread isn’t dead! Insert a penny upside down into the tire tread; if the top of Lincoln’s head is still visible, invest in some new tires PRONTO!
